Working Principle

The seal is simple and rugged designed that can tolerate shaft movement, deflection, and vibration. It eliminates the necessity of auxiliary equipment for lubrication and cooling that is needed for a mixer. As there’s not any usage of barrier fluid, it removes the chances of product contamination and can be used in high vacuum applications. As there’s no need for any external lubrication for the seal faces, it is termed as dry running seals. Here, many springs are externally mounted and a reverse balanced seal having an O-ring is present that acts as a secondary sealer. It is available with cartridge, non-cartridge & bearing assembly.

The seal is capable of forming a direct contact seal that for an extended time at both high and low rotational speeds without wear of the seal faces or undue heating. The stator face’s rear surface and the mounting plate’s corresponding surface are lapped for max contact of direct heat transfer. Simultaneously, air from the surrounding region of the shaft is circulated via the cooling annulus directly behind the stator face and out via exit ports.
